The University of Gdańsk (Polish: Uniwersytet Gdański) is a public research university located in Gdańsk, Poland.

There are over 30.000 students at the University of Gdańsk, who are taught by 1670 academic staff. In such fields of study as Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Oceanography, Quantum Physics, Pedagogy, Psychology, Law and Economic Sciences, the University of Gdańsk is one of the best institutions in Poland and has become an incubator for entrepreneurship in such areas as Biotechnology, Biology and Chemistry.

The University of Gdańsk provides education in 11 faculties with 71 fields of study, comprising over 200 specializations. The University’s foreign-language instructors allow students to develop their foreign language skills in 10 languages.

Students engage in research as part of their studies. There are some 200 student research groups at the University. Some students undertake their first research activities within the framework of grants won by their teachers.
