Olsztyn

Olsztyn is a city established in 14th century and situated in northeastern Poland. Olsztyn is a capitol of Polish Lake District (called Masurian Land of Thousand Lakes) and has 175 000 inhabitants.

Olsztyn is famous for Gothic Castle, Old Town Hall, St.James's Cathedral, Neogothic churches and Old Town.

There are about 35.000 students studying at University of Warmia and Mazury and at several schools of higher education.

The biggest employer in Olsztyn is Michelin tyre company. Other important industries are furniture manufacturing, food processing and tourism.
