Wroclaw

Wroclaw (Wrocław) - is the fourth largest city in Poland ( 630.000 residents), situated in Western Poland on the Odra River. Wrocław is classified as a Global city by GaWC and highly ranked in the Mercer 2015 Quality of Living ranking as having" a thriving cultural and social environment".

Wrocław is the third largest educational centre of Poland, with 135.000 students in 30 colleges.
The main universities are: Wrocław University with over 47.000 students, Wrocław University of Technology with over 40.000 students, Wrocław Medical University, Wrocław University of Economics with over 18.000 students, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Science with over 13.000 students.

Based on large population of very well-educated graduates Wrocław is the third biggest in Poland R&D and BPO centre, including IBM, Google, HP, Siemens, Nokia Network, Bosch, Bosch-Siemens, Volvo, Opera Software, Bombardier Transportation, Whirpool Corporation, QAD and plenty of others, The city has had a very fast growing high-tech sector. The following high-tech companies are located in the Wrocław Technology Park: Baluff, CIT Engineering, Caisson Elekronik,ContTech, Ericsson, Innovatice Sofware Technologies, IBM, IT-MED, IT Sector, LiveChat Software, Mitsubishi Electric, Maas, PGS Sotwareand many others. The city is the seat WrocławReaserch Centre EIT+

Close to Wrocław there are located big factories of LG Electronics, LG Chem, LG Display, LG Innotek, Toshiba, Dong Seo Display, Dong Yang Electronics. Wrocław's industry apart from electronics and chemicals also manufacturers buses, trams, trains. Wrocław is a major center for the pharmaceutical industry. The city is home to many banks, financial and accounting centres, the largest number of leasing and debt collection companies in the country.

Wrocław is the second richest and second fastest growing city in Poland (after capital- Warsaw).
Wrocław is also one of the most beautiful Polish cities, with many historical attractions like Ostrów Tumski, the oldest part of the city, the Wrocław Cathedral (mid 10th century), Main Market Square (13th century) with the Old Town Hall and plenty of historical churches and buildings. Wrocław was rankedin the top ten places to be visited by the British newspaper The Guardian.
